Guidelines for Organizing Online Gaming Sessions
To create a fun, active, and welcoming gaming community, it is important to plan your gaming sessions in advance and make them easy for others to join.
Plan Ahead and Create Sessions Early
Before you start gaming, create a gaming session so members know when and what you will be playing. Advance planning gives people time to adjust their schedules and increases participation.
Use the TCLeague Calendar
Whenever possible, schedule your gaming sessions using the calendar available on TCLeague.com. This helps keep all community activities organized in one place and makes it easier for members to discover upcoming events.
Invite Players from Other Societies
TCLeague is a community that spans multiple societies. Don’t hesitate to invite members from other societies to join your sessions. Cross-society activities help strengthen friendships, increase participation, and create a more vibrant gaming environment.
Use English as the Common Language
Since TCLeague brings together members from different countries and backgrounds, English should be the primary language used during organized gaming sessions. This ensures that everyone can participate and communicate effectively.
Join the TCLeague Discord While Gaming
When hosting or participating in a gaming session, please use the TCLeague Discord voice channels. Even if some members are not playing the same game, they can still join the conversation, socialize, and enjoy the community atmosphere. Discord makes it easier for others to jump into the session, ask questions, and find games to join.
Build Community, Not Just Games
Remember that gaming sessions are not only about the game itself—they are opportunities to meet new people, strengthen friendships, and grow the TCLeague community. A welcoming attitude and good communication help make every session successful.
By planning ahead, using the TCLeague calendar, inviting members across societies, communicating in English, and gathering on Discord, you help create engaging and inclusive gaming experiences for everyone.
TCLeague Organized Sessions with a Reverend
TCLeague-organized sessions will follow a structured format designed to strengthen fellowship, teamwork, and spiritual reflection while enjoying gaming together.
Announcement Phase
The session will be announced on TCLeague.com and the TCLeague Discord server at least two weeks before the event begins. Members are encouraged to register their interest early and invite friends from other societies to participate.
Warm-Up Phase (10 Minutes)
The session begins with a 10-minute warm-up phase. During this time, participants from different societies connect, greet one another, and engage in casual gaming or conversation. This phase is intended to help everyone relax, socialize, and build community before the organized activities begin.
Preparation Phase (10 Minutes)
Following the warm-up, a 10-minute preparation phase takes place. Teams are organized, the schedule for the session is reviewed, games are selected, and any special rules, objectives, or event-specific information are communicated to all participants.
Word of the Coach (10 Minutes)
The session then moves into a 10-minute “Word of the Coach” segment. A reverend reads a short passage from the Word, followed by a brief selection from the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg. A short spiritual pre-game speech are then given, focusing on teamwork, sportsmanship, mutual support, spiritual growth and how to apply these to our lives when we leave the session.
If there is no reverend available, use this time to read one of the “Words of the the Coach” sermons and reflect upon spiritual matters.
Gaming Phase
After the opening activities have concluded, the main gaming phase begins. Participants engage in the scheduled games while remaining connected through the TCLeague Discord voice channels, allowing members to communicate, cooperate, and enjoy fellowship throughout the event.
Closing Phase
When the gaming activities have concluded, the session enters its final phase. Participants are invited to share their experiences, thoughts, observations, and ideas for future events. This time allows members to reflect on the session, strengthen connections, and provide feedback that can help improve future gatherings.
The purpose of TCLeague-organized sessions is not only to enjoy gaming together but also to foster friendship, cooperation, community spirit, and spiritual encouragement among members across all participating societies.
All events must also follow our Community Safety & Moderation standards.
